For Harper O’Neill, life has settled into a routine: Wake up. Care for her ailing mother. Maybe hang out with her best friend, Emilio, before turning in.
But when strangers show up in her town, peddling a mysterious drug known only as Dust, Harper’s hum-drum existence is thrown into chaos and danger. For the strangers are minions of Badb Catha, a Fae goddess of Celtic legend who wants to escape her own dying world… by conquering ours.
Using Dust to enslave humans, Badb Catha has been building her forces, trying to complete the magic portal which will allow the Fae invasion to begin. Now, the goddess just needs one more thing: to find – and take – the magic power entrusted to the human High King Niall over a thousand years ago.
A magic now found in the blood the High King’s direct descendant, Harper O’Neill.
Harper’s family has disappeared. Her best friend enslaved… or worse. And Badb Catha’s minions are close behind, ready to kill her and so begin a war that will destroy or enslave every human alive.
The world is on the brink of disaster, and the one thing that can save it is the magic and will of a woman Hunted by Fae.

I received a complimentary copy of the book and am giving my honest review. The book feels like a huge build up to what will probably be the finale in the next book. There is a lot going on at once with different perspectives which is nice as it gives a full picture of the story.
Loved it!
Characters from Celtic legends come to life in the story about Harper O'Neill, her friends, and her enemies. The book sucked me right in and I read it in one go, spending my entire day wanting to know what would happen next. Closed the Kindle at 1:00 in the morning. I haven't done that for a long time.Harper is a great heroine, different from many others I've encountered in Fantasy tales. She had prepared herself for defense, was not naive, yet found herself lacking in the final element she needed: control of her temper--something I can really relate to. The stakes build rapidly as her best friend disappears and her mother is attacked. The story is full of Fae characters, some of which I actually looked up to see what they were like in the legends. Molly portrayed them accurately and made them real to me.It is fast paced with lots of action and emotion. A warning: it ends on a cliff-hanger and you have to go on to the second book to find out what happens to her. I've already bought the second and will start it tomorrow. (Got to sleep tonight so I don't dare start now.)
Mystery. Magic. Fae and other magical beings. If this is your go to’s for books then must read this Cant wait for the rest
I was so sorry when this ended. I can't wait for the sequel. I don't usually read fae (which I ignorantly called fairy) or Celtic mythology books. But I do read fantasy and found this one captivating. I found it easy to relate to the characters.I read the prequel first and honestly found it hard to get into. Luckily, it is a Kindle book so I could get a quick definition for mythological terms. When I re-read the prequel after this one, everything fell into place. It provides good context for this modern tale.
